TUMS Dosage

Take TUMS exactly as advised by your doctor. Avoid the use of larger or smaller amount of this drug than recommended. Also, longer use of this medication than required is highly discouraged. TUMS is more effective when taken along with food. Swallow the tablet or capsule with a glass full of water. If a tablet is to be chewed, chew it before swallowing. Osteoporosis adult dose
  • Take 2500 to 75000 mg per day by mouth two or four times a day.
Adult dose for hypocalcemia
  • Take 900 to 2500mg per day by mouth for 2 to 4 times a day. The dose may be increased if well tolerated.
