Rasagiline Uses

Rasagiline is a medicine used in the treatment of Parkinson"s disease. The drug cannot cure the disease, but what it can do is ease the symptoms of the condition. Rasagiline is used due to its distinct mechanism of action, that is to say, its role in inhibiting a chemical in the brain called monoamine oxidase B. Through inhibition of MAO-B, the brain is deprived of a chemical that would otherwise induce, or worsen, the symptoms experienced by patients with Parkinson"s disease. Rasagiline may also be used for purposes not listed in this guide, at the discretion of the prescriber.
