Pyridoxine HCL is a vitamin which is mainly used for preventing and treating low levels of pyridoxine or pyridoxine deficiency and the anaemia that may result. However, this medication may also be used to treat diseases, high cholesterol as well as reducing homocysteine blood levels.

However, Pyridoxine HCL may also be used for other conditions as determined by the doctor. This medication works by increasing the levels of pyridoxine in the blood. Pyridoxine HCL Dosage

Pyridoxine HCL dosage is administered in the form of an injectable solution, oral tablets or compounding powder. The dosage depends on the strength of the medicine. It also varies with the age since dosage is different for different patients. Do not start, stop or change dosage unless instructed by the doctor.

Adult Dose for Vitamin/Mineral Deficiency

  • 100 to 300 mg/day orally in divided doses.
  • Oral contraceptives: 25 to 30 mg per day orally

Adult Dose for Dietary Supplement

  • 10 to 25 mg per day orally, IM, or IV for three weeks followed by 2 to 5 mg per day

Adult Dose for Nausea/Vomiting

  • 10 to 50 mg/day

Pediatric Dose for Dietary Supplement

  • 5 to 25 mg/day orally, IM, or IV for three weeks followed by 1.5 to 2.5 mg/day

Pediatric Dose for Seizures
