Pulmophylline Uses

Pulmophylline is combination of a cough suppressant, antihistamine and decongestant. The cough suppressant works by interfering with the activities of certain chemical in the brain to lessen the urge to cough.

The decongestant works by reducing the size of dilated blood vessels in the airways to allow easier breathing. The antihistamine works by blocking the activities of a chemical known as histamine. Histamine occurs naturally in the body during a chemical reaction and triggers symptoms such as sneezing, wheezing and watery eyes. Do not use Pulmophylline if you’re allergic to any of its active ingredients. Also, do not use Pulmophylline on children under the age of 6 years unless authorized by the doctor. Pulmophylline is prescribed for:

Pulmophylline Dosage

Use Pulmophylline exactly as authorized by the doctor of physician. If you are taking over the counter version of Pulmophylline, read the dosage information on the package carefully. Ask your physician of doctor any question in case you are unsure. Pulmophylline tablets should be swallowed whole while the liquid form of Pulmophylline should be measured using a marked device. Your age height, weight, age, medical history is used to determine the Pulmophylline dosage while the amount is determined by the drug's strength.

  • 10 mL orally every 6 hours not to exceed 40 mL every 24 hours

If you forget to take Pulmophylline dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is about time for the second dose, skip the missed dose and go back to the normal schedule.
