Prostascint Uses

Prostascint is a monoclonal antibody used in the diagnosis of symptoms of prostatic cancer. The condition is prevalent in people with an enlarged prostate. Prostascint is used to produce an image showing the extent of prostate cancer. The drug is able to recognize prostate cancer cells and distinguish it from normal prostate cells. When injected in the body the imaging is performed using single photon emission computed tomography.
