Proquin XR belongs to the drug class, quinolones -- a synthetic, bactericidal antibacterial agent. Quinolone is responsible for inhibiting the enzyme (topoisomerase II) necessary for the bacterial replication, transcription, repair and recombination.
Proquin XR is a broad-spectrum antibiotic and therefore, microorganisms resistant to other antibiotics may be susceptible to Proquin XR.
