Chlordiazepoxide is the active agent in Poxi. Chlordiazepoxide works by regulating chemicals in the brain that are known for causing anxiety in case they are unbalanced. The drug may also be used as a treatment for other conditions as the physician may prescribe.

Poxi dosage should be administered as per the physician’s prescription. Usual adult dosage for:

- Alcohol withdrawal; 50 to 100 mg orally. Maximum dose; 300 mg.

- Anxiety; 5 mg orally, 2 to 4 times per day. The dosage can be increased depending on the patient’s response.
