Phenyl-T Uses

Phenyl-T is a decongestant that shrinks blood vessels in the nasal passages. Dilated blood vessels can cause nasal congestion (stuffy nose). It is important in treating cough and stuffy nose which is caused by infections like the common cold, breathing illnesses, and allergies such as hay fever. Phenyl-T is used to treat the following:

  • stuffy nose
  • sinus
  • ear symptoms

This medication should be avoided by smokers who may suffer coughing and should not be used for long-term breathing problems. Avoid using this drug if you are allergic to phenylephrine or any other decongestants.

Phenyl-T works by decreasing swelling in the nose and ears, thereby lessening discomfort and making it easier to breath. Cough and cold products have not been shown to be safe or effective for children under the age of 6 years. Ask your pharmacist for more details about using your product safely.
