Pentazine is a special medication that can be used to treat various upper respiratory tract infections. Pentazine may also be used to treat other condition such as nausea, motion sickness and vomiting. It is an antihistamine that is categorized as a phenothiazine. It works by reducing the effect of the natural histamine in the body which is the chemical responsible for causing most of the allergic reactions. It may also be used in treating other conditions as prescribed by the physician.

- Anaphylaxis; 25 mg IV or IM once and should be repeated within 2 hours. For oral dosage: 25 mg once and be repeated every 4 hours.
- Allergic rhinitis: 25 mg IV or IM once and should be repeated within 2 hours. Oral dosage: 25 mg before going to bed.
- Nausea vomiting; 12.5 to 25 mg every 4 to 6 hours.
Usual pediatric dosage for:
- Allergic reactions: 2 years and older: 0.5 mg/kg.
- Nausea or vomiting: 0.5 to 1 mg/kg/dose every 6 hours.
