Pedituss is a medication that is formulated to relieve symptoms of cold and allergies as a result of respiratory tract infections. It is a combination medication that is formulated by combining three medicines- chlorpheniramine, cordeine and phenylephrine. It is an antihistamine, cough suppressant and decongestant medicine.
Chlorpheniramine is the antihistamine agent in the combination and it works by reducing the effect of the natural histamine in the body. Codeine is the narcotic cough suppressant agent and it works in the brain to triggering cough reflex. Phenylephrine is the decongestant that works by shrinking blood vessels in the nasal passage. Pedituss may also be used in treating other conditions.

- Allergic rhinitis; 5 to 10 mL every 4 to 6 hours. Max; 40 mL per day.

Usual pediatric dosage for:
- Allergic rhinitis; 6-11 years; 2.5 to 5 mL every 4 to 6 hours. Max dose; 20 ml in 24 hours. 12 years and above; Adult dosage.
- Nasal and cough congestion; 6 - 11 years; 2.5 to 5 mL every 4 to 6 hours. Max dose; 20 mL in 24 hours. For 12 years and above; Adult dosage.
Pedituss Side Effects
