- Chancroid and syphilis: Mild to moderate infection; 250 to 500 mg orally every 6 hours. Severe infections: 1 to 4 g/day IV in divided doses every 6 hours.
Usual pediatric dose for:
- Bacterial Endocarditis Prophylaxis: 20 mg/kg
- Pneumonia, Chlamydia infection: 50 mg/kg every 6 hours for 2 weeks.
- Pertussis: 40-50 mg/kg/day orally every 6 hours for two weeks.
