Paromomycin Sulphate Uses
Paromomycin Sulphate is a drug that is used for treating intestinal infections that are usually caused by bacteria from parasites. Paromomycin Sulphate is known as an aminoglycoside antibiotic which works by stopping the growth of the parasites that are in the intestines.
Paromomycin Sulphate is also used along with other with a special diet for treating Hepatic Encephalopathy which is a seriousbrain problem that occurs to people with liver disease whereby it stops the growth of the bacteria in the intestines that make ammonia.
Paromomycin Sulphate is only used for treating parasitic and bacterial infections, but it cannot be used for treating viral infections.

Paromomycin Sulphate Dosage
It is very important for a patient to follow the instructions that are given by the doctor in regard to the dosage of Paromomycin Sulphate and also the schedule. - The recommended adult and paediatric dose for Amebiasis:25 to 35 mg/kg/day orally in 3 divided doses for 5 to 10 days.
- Cryptosporidiosis: 25 to 35 mg/kg/day in 2 to 4 divided doses for 10 to 14 days
- Dientamoeba Fragilis: 25 to 35 mg/kg/day should be taken orally in 3 divided doses for seven days
- Hepatic Coma: 1 g 4 times a day for 5 to 7 days
