Nicotine Transdermal System is a patch-system used in the treatment of nicotine addiction. Patients finding it difficult to quit smoking use the Nicotine Transdermal System to help accustom their bodies to the withdrawal effects of nicotine, meaning smoking cessation becomes that much easier.
The Nicotine Transdermal System is divided into three types of patche, each of which has a different amount of nicotine. Patch 1 has 24mg, patch 2 has 14mg, while patch 3 has 7mg. Each of these patches delivers nicotine to the body over a 24-hour period.
Patients should not use this system if they are using nicotine gum, other patches, or any other form of nicotine.
