Metozolv Uses

Metozolv works by enhancing the muscle contractions in the upper part of the digestive tract. This increases the rate at which stomach empties the intestines thereby helping deal with the intensity of GERD. Metozolv is taken orally without the need of water since it melts on the tongue, thus can be used by patients who have swallowing problem. Metozolv is used as per the doctor's direction. Avoid using the drug in larger amounts than recommended as this may lead to serious movement problems that may be irreversible. Metozolv should not be used for more than 12 weeks. The more you take this medication, the higher the risk of developing a serious movement disorder especially in women, diabetics, and older adults.

Metozolv Dosage

Metozolv dosage is determined by the doctor. He or she may base it on the severity of the condition being treated, the patient's weight and the body's ability to tolerate the drug's activity. Do not take Metozolv outside the recommended dosage limits. The amount of medicine to be used depends on the drugs strength. The interval between dosages, the number of times to take the dose in a day and the period of using Metozolv is all determined by the doctor. Metozolv Dosage:

  • Adults, Take 10 mg to 15 mg of Metozolv 4 times a day
  • Take the drug at least 30 minutes before each meal and before you go to bed
  • In case the symptoms only occur at specific times of the day, Metozolv may be used as a single dose of 20 mg before the symptoms occur
  • Metozolv is not recommended for children
