Hydramine belongs to a class of medications known as antihistamines. Hydramine works by reducing the activities of histamine, a chemical that occurs naturally in the body. Hydramine dosage should be used exactly as authorized by the doctor or physician. If you are taking an over the counter version of Hydramine, read the dosage information on the package carefully. - Cough and cold - 25 mg orally every 4 hours as needed, not to exceed 150 mg every 24 hours
