Humibid Uses

Humibid is a combination medicine which is mainly used to temporarily relieve cough caused by conditions such as the common cold, upper respiratory tract infections, sinus inflammation, sore throat and bronchitis. This medication is a combination of guaifenesin which is an expectorant and dextromethorphan which is a cough suppressant. Humibid works by loosening mucus and lung secretions in the chest and making coughs more productive. However, this medication may also be used for other conditions as determined by the doctor. Do not use this medication if you are allergic to any ingredient in Humibid. Below you will find the uses of Humibid.

Humibid Dosage

Humibid dosage is administered in the form of oral liquid, oral capsules or tablets. Humibid dosage is dependent on the user since it is different on different users.The dosage also depends on the strength of the medicine and the magnitude of infection. Read the prescription details on the label or consult the doctor for details. Do not start, stop or change the dosage without consulting the doctor. Children under the age of 4 should never use cough or cold medications. Talk to a doctor before giving cough or cold products to children under 12. Below you will find a typical dosage of Humibid.

  • 10 mg-200 mg oral capsule: 2 capsules every 4 hours. Do not exceed 12 capsules per day
  • 5 mg-100 mg/5 mL oral liquid: 10 mL to 20 mL every 4 hours. Do not exceed 120 mL per day
  • 30 mg-600 mg oral tablet, extended release: 1 or 2 tablets every 12 hours. Do not exceed 4 tablets per day
