Hivid belongs to a class of drugs known as nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors. Hivid works by blocking the growth and spread of the HIV. HIV causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. It alters the immune system making the affected person more vulnerable to infections and diseases.
HIV is passed from one person to the other through blood transfusion or sexual contact. Additionally, the virus may be passed from mother to child during pregnancy, at childbirth, and through breastfeeding.

The dosage for Hivid depends on the individual and the condition being treated. Hivid should be taken as directed by the doctor to lower the risk of spreading HIV to others. The doctor may determine your dose based on the acuteness of the disease thus the dosage may differ from one patient to the other. The patient’s weight, sex, height and the response to treatment may also determine Hivid dosage. Remember to use effective barrier methods such as condoms and dental dams during all your sexual activities to avoid spreading HIV to others. Below you will find a typical dosage of Hivid.
- 0.750 mg of HIVID every 12 hours
If you miss a Hivid dose, take it as soon as you can. However, if it is about time for the second dose, skip the missed dose and go back to the normal schedule.
Hivid Side Effects
Hivid causes side effects just like any other drug. The severity of these side effects may differ from one patient to the other depending on the body’s ability to tolerate the effects of the drug.
