Hematron is a multivitamin and iron drug that is used to treat vitamin deficiency in a patient. Vitamin deficiency in a patient can be caused by poor nutrition, certain illnesses or pregnancy. Hematron dose is only prescribed by your doctor or care giver. Hematron should be taken with or without food, in case you get an upset stomach, take it with food or at bedtime. The duration between intervals, time and the length of using Hematron are determined by the severity of the condition being treated.
Hematron is prescribed as follows:
Usual Adult dose
- 1 oral tablet once a day
- 5-5 mL oral liquid once a day
- Prenatal vitamin oral Kit: 1 tablet orally once a day
- Prenatal vitamin oral bar: 1 bar daily
Usual Pediatric dose
- 1 tablet orally once a day
- 0.5 -1 mL orally once a day
Above 12 years
- 5- 10 mL orally once a day
Note that Hematron should be taken on an empty stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Take it with a full glass of water.
If you miss a Hematron dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is close to the time for you next dose, skip the mixed dose and go back to your normal schedule. Do not take two doses at the same time or more than what your doctor has prescribed. Do not stop taking or change this drug without your doctor’s permission.
Hematron Side Effects
Hematron has its own side effects just like any other medication. The severity of these side effects may vary from one person to the other depending on the body’s ability to handle the effects of the drug. Some people may not experience the side effects at all. - Dark or green stool

In most cases, Hematron is not combined with other drugs unless the doctor authorizes it. Thus, do not start, stop or change the use of any medication without informing your doctor.
