H 9600 Sr is a combination of guaifenesin, dextromethorphan and phenylephrine. It is a decongestant, an expectorant and a cough suppressant. It is used in the treatment of chest congestion, cough and stuffy nose that is commonly caused by the common cold, allergies, breathing illnesses and hay fever. Dextromethorphan works by affecting a particular part of the brain that reduces the urge to cough.

Hay fever is an allergy that takes place as a result of the pollen or dust exposure where the eyes and nose mucous membranes become itchy and inflamed leading to a runny nose and watery eyes. Hay fever and allergic rhinitis occur together in many cases.
H 9600 Sr is used to treat:

Dextromethorphan acts on a particular part of the brain to minimise the urge to cough. Guaifenesin works by loosening and thinning of the mucus in the lungs making it easier to cough up the mucus. Phenylephrine works by relieving symptoms of a stuffy nose.

Pediatric dose for cough and nasal congestion
- Infants between six months and nine months should take 5mg dextromethorphan/50mg phenylephrine/2.5mg/5ml phenylephrine oral liquid
