Guiatex is a drug used to treat a cough and nasal congestion. Nasal congestion is often characterized as the blockage of nasal passages due to swollen blood vessels in the nose. Patients may have a stuffy nose and experience sinus pressure.
Guiatex contains both an expectorant and decongestant to help soothe the symptoms. An expectorant helps to loosen and thins out mucus. A nasal decongestant provides relief by reducing the swelling of blood vessels in the nose. Therefore, if the patient's condition worsens, they should contact their doctor.
