Guapetex Uses

Guapetex is a combination medication formulated to treat cold and infection symptoms. It is very effective in treating sinus congestion, runny and stuffy nose and watery/itchy eyes. Guapetex is formulated by combining three medicines including; guaifenesin and phenylephrine. 

Phenylephrine is the decongestant agent in Guapetex, and it works by constricting the blood vessels in the nasal passages to reduce nasal congestion. Guaifenesin is the expectorant agent in Guapetex, and it clears nasal congestion by loosening and thinning mucus in the airways. By this, it enables the removal of excess mucous to allow proper breathing.

Guapetex Dosage

Guapetex must be administered as prescribed by the physician to get the expected outcome.   • Liquid; 10 mL orally every 4 to 6 hours. Maximum dosage is 40 mL in 24 hours.

Usual pediatric dosage for a cough and nasal congestion:

  • 2 to 5 years; 1 mL orally every 4 to 6 hours. Maximum dosage is four doses a day.
  • 6 to 12 years; 2 mL orally every 4 to 6 hours. Maximum dosage is four doses a day.
