Guaimist S is a combination medication formulated to treat symptoms caused by common cold and other upper respiratory infections. Guaimist S is a combination medication; guaifenesin and phenylephrine HCL. 

Guaifenesin is the expectorant agent that clears nasal congestion by loosening and thinning mucus in the airways. By this, it enables the removal of excess mucous to allow proper breathing. Phenylephrine HCL is the decongestant agent in Guaimist S and it works by constricting the blood vessels in the nasal passages to reduce nasal congestion.

Guaimist S Dosage

  • Tablet; 1 tablet orally every 6 to 8 hours. Do not exceed 4 tablets a day.

Usual pediatric dosage for a cough and nasal congestion:

  • 2 - 5 years; 1 mL orally every 4 to 6 hours. Do not exceed 4 doses a day.
