Gentex 30 is a combination drug that is formulated to treat various symptoms caused by common cold and other upper respiratory infections. Gentex 30 is a combination of three medicines including carbetapentane, guaifenesin and phenylephrine.
Guaifenesin is the expectorant agent that clears nasal congestion by loosening and thinning mucus in the airways. By this, it enables the removal of excess mucous to allow proper breathing. Phenylephrine HCL is the decongestant agent Gentex 30 combination and it works by constricting the blood vessels in the nasal passages to reduce nasal congestion. Carbetapentane is the cough suppressant, and it works in the brain to by triggering cough reflex.

Gentex 30 Dosage
Gentex 30 must be administered as prescribed by the physician to achieve the expected outcome. Usual adult dosage for a cough and nasal congestion:

- 2 - 5 years; 1 mL orally every 4 to 6 hours. Max dose; 4 doses a day.
- 6 - 12 years; 2 mL orally every 4 to 6 hours. Max dose; 4 doses a day.
