G-Tuss is a combination medication that is formulated to relieve and treat cold symptoms. G-Tuss is formulated by combining guaifenesin and hydrocodone. These two are the active agents in this combination for relieving cough, throat and airway irritation caused by the flu, hay fever or colds. Hydrocodone comes in as a narcotic cough suppressant that loosens mucus and lung secretion. Guaifenesin is the expectorant that component that works in the brain to help decrease the cough reflex to reduce a dry cough. G-Tuss can also be used to treat other medical conditions.

G-Tuss dosage is mostly determined by various factors which must be adhered to before consumption. Remember that the dosage must be prescribed by a qualified physician or a pharmacist. Usual dosage for adults:
- Cough – Take 1 extended release tablet of G-Tuss (1200mg- 20 mg) orally for every 12 hours. The maximum dosage should be two tablets per day.
G-Tuss usual dosage for pediatric:
- 2 to 6 years; 2.5 mL syrup orally every 4-6 hours
- 6 to 12 years; 2.5-5 mL syrup 4 times a day
- 12 years and over; 10 mL every 6 hours and a maximum of 40 mL/day
