Ferro-Plex is used for treating or preventing low levels of vitamins, iron and folic acid in the body.Ferro-Plex works by providing extra minerals in the body that you need, but you cannot get enough in your diet. The stool softener in this combination helps in preventing constipation that may be caused by the use of iron products.
Ferro-Plex is usually recommended for patients who are suffering from anemia. It can also be used during pregnancy. Ferro-Plex may be used for other purposes that are not listed above, but only a doctor can be able to determine that.
It is always important to follow all the instructions that are given to you by the doctor regarding the dosage of Ferro-Plex and also the schedule. Contact a doctor immediately if you have the signs and symptoms of an overdose. If you miss a dose of Ferro-Plex, take it as soon as you remember, but if it is almost time for the next dose you should skip the missed dose and resume your normal schedule. Do not take an extra dose to make up for a missed dose.
- Adult dose for Anemia is 1 tablet to be taken orally once a day or 5 to 15 mL of oral liquid once daily.
- Pediatric dose for Anemia is 1 tablet orally or 0.5 to 1 mL of oral liquid to be taken once daily.
