Eribulin Uses

Eribulin use is indicated for the treatment of metastatic breast cancer. In fact, Eribulin is prescription medicine specifically used in cancer patients who have received at least 2 other types of treatments or anticancer medicines in the past. Doctors prescribe Eribulin use for the treatment of breast cancer in patients who have received at least 2 chemotherapy sessions for late stage cancer disease. Research is undergoing for Eribulin use in the treatment of other solid tumors including prostate cancer, lung cancer, sarcoma and others.

Eribulin Dosage

Eribulin dose is normally determined by the doctor and is based on a number of factors such as the patient's medical history, age, response to medication and others.

  • The recommended Eribulin dose is 1.4 mg per meter squared administered intravenously. Eribulin is administered over a period of 2, 5 minutes on days 1 and 8 in a 21-day cycle.
  • For patients with mild hepatic impairment, the recommended Eribulin dose is 1.1 mg/meter squared while patients with moderate hepatic impairment take a recommended dose of 0.7 mg/meter squared. There are some provisions for the Eribulin dose modification. This modification is individualized and will be determined by the doctor.
