Dabrafenib Uses

Tafinlar is specifically recommended for the treatment of patients with unresectable or metastatic melanoma with BRAF V600E mutation. Tafinlar may also result in new cancers, including cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cuSCC) that is known to spread to other parts of the body. Make sure you consult with your healthcare provider about your risk of developing skin cancers.

Tafinlar is considered an inhibitor of some mutated forms of BRAF kinases. Some mutations found in the BRAF gene, including those that result in BRAF V600E, can lead to activated BRAF kinases that may stimulate tumour cell growth

Dabrafenib Dosage

Tafinlar dosage is dependent on the individual that it is being administered to. The following dosage is an average dose and could differ among individuals. Follow your medical professional"s directions for best results.

Tafinlar is administered in form of a capsule meant for oral administration.

  • The recommended dose is 150 mg to be taken twice daily, at intervals of approximately 12 hours until the disease progression or unacceptable toxicity occurs.

However, you can take either at least 1 hour before or at least 2 hours after a meal. In case you miss a single dose, you can take it 6 hours prior to the next dose.
