Stribild is a combination of antiviral medications that are used to treat HIV. While it does not eliminate HIV, Stribild can stop the cells from multiplying. Stribild is a prescription medicine which is used as a line of treatment for HIV-1 infection. It contains four drugs, namely elvitegravir, cobicistat, emtricitabine, and tenofovir. These drugs help control the symptoms of HIV-1 infections and also lower the chances of HIV-related illnesses. Stribild is for patients who have never taken an HIV medicine before or those who have an undetectable viral load and want to replace their current HIV-1 medicine. Stribild is a once a day medicine and should be taken with food. It is highly important that the patient does not stop taking the medicine on their own or take other HIV medicine with Stribild. Stribild is prescribed for the control of HIV infection. It does not treat or cure HIV.
