Salagen is an alkaloid obtained from the leaves of tropical American shrubs from genus pilocarpus. Salagen is used to treat dry mouth, eyes, and glaucoma. Salagen works by stimulating the secretion of a large amount of saliva and sweat hence lubricating the mouth. Salagen also facilitates the action of aqueous humor hence lubricates the eye.
