Rifamate is a drug made up of two antibacterial drugs; Isoniazid and Rifampin that are used together to treat Tuberculosis (TB). Rifampin treats all forms of tuberculosis. It works by inhibiting the growth of sensitive bacteria.

Rifamate, a combination of Rifampin and Isoniazid, works by killing the TB bacteria. The Rifampin drug is a Rifamycin antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria. To confirm how the susceptible the bacteria organisms are on this drug, take a bacterial culture before the start of treatment. It should be repeated throughout treatment to monitor the patient's response to treatment.
During the therapy, of both meningococcal carrier state and tuberculosis, the less number of resistant cells can become the predominant type. If the test results prove resistance to Rifamate, the drug should be modified. Unnecessary use of any antibiotic can lead to its lessened effectiveness. This drug will not work for viral infections like flu and the common cold.
