Loseasonique was first developed by Barr Pharmaceuticals in conjunction with Eastern Virginia Medical School and approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration on September 5, 2003. Recently, the Food and Drug Administration approved several pharmaceutical companies to manufacture loseasonique. This drug contains 2 female hormones namely ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel which prevent ovulation.
