Loryna is a combination hormone drug that prevents pregnancy. It has a progestin, drospirenone and an estrogen, Ethinyl estradiol. Loryna belongs to a drug class known as the contraceptives. It is available in several brand names some of which are: Gianvi, Loryna, Syeda, Vestura, Ocella, Yaz, Yasmin, Zarah. Loryna inhibits ovulation by providing non-conducive fertilization environment.
Loryna (drospirenone and ethinyl Estradiol) is a combination of two hormones. This medication works by preventing ovulation during the menstrual cycle. It also thickens the vaginal fluid thus preventing fertilization while changing the womb to prevent fertilized egg from attachment.
Lorna is mainly used as contraception to prevent pregnancy. Also, it is used to treat symptoms such as anxiety, depression, irritability, headache, breast tenderness and loss of appetite. However, this medication may also be used for other conditions as determined by the doctor.
Loryna has several side effects. Apart from needed side effects, it may also cause unwanted side effects which may require medical attention. Some of the side effects include; nausea, headache, unusual menstrual periods, vomiting, breast pain and unusual tenderness.
