Ilevro is a drug that belongs to a class of drugs referred to as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDs. It is used to relieve irritation, redness and pain after a cataract eye surgery. Ilevro blocks natural substances or prostaglandins in the body that cause swelling and pain. Prostaglandins are hormone-like substances released at the site of injury, infection, or surgery to deal with the injury or illness. Ilevro (nepafenac) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication which works by blocking various natural substances in the eye that cause swelling and pain. Ilevro is mainly used to treat pain, swelling, irritation and redness after cataract eye surgery. However, this medication may also be used for other conditions as determined by the doctor. Do not use this medication if you are in late pregnancy or have had an allergic reaction to any ingredient in it. Ilevro may cause several side effects. In addition to its needed side effects, Ilevro may cause unwanted side effects which may require medical attention.
