Dymista is a nasal spray that is used to alleviate seasonal allergy symptoms. Dymista is a combination of the generic drugs azelastine and fluticasone, which work together to alleviate nasal symptoms brought on by seasonal allergies and reduce nasal inflammation. Dymista should not be used by those allergic to either azelastine or fluticasone. Dymista may be used by adults and children older than 12 years. Dymista (azelastine hydrochloride and fluticasone propionate) is a combination medication for upper respiratory conditions. It is used to relieve nasal symptoms such as the itching, stuffy nose and sneezing among others. Azelastine hydrochloride is the antihistamine agent in this combination that blocks the effect of natural histamine in the body. Histamine is the chemical that causes nasal allergies such as runny nasal, sneezing among others. Fluticasone propionate is the corticosteroid agent that works by reducing the inflammations (swelling) in the nasal passages thus allowing for a smooth air to passage. Dymista is supplied in the form is liquid and should be administered orally.
