Low levels of serotonin and norepinephrine are thought to contribute to depression and anxiety. Cymbalta is a prescription drug indicated for the treatment of depression and anxiety. This medicine can also be used to help relieve peripheral neuropathy (nerve pain) in individuals diagnosed with diabetes or ongoing pain caused by ailments such as chronic back pain, fibromyalgia, and arthritis. Cymbalta may help improve sleep, appetite, mood, energy level and reduce nervousness. It can also reduce pain caused by the use of certain medications.
