Benztropine Mesylate is classified as anticholinergic antiparkinson agents. It is used in the medication of Parkinson’s disease symptoms by decreasing the effects of a certain chemical in the brain. Benztropine Mesylate is also used to treat some of the symptoms such as muscle spasms, tremors, stiffness and muscle control that are poor. Benztropine mesylate is a drug used in the treatment of Parkinsonian symptoms. These symptoms include stiffness, muscle spasms, and tremors. Benztropine mesylate is also used to treat these symptoms when caused by other drugs such as chlorpromazine. Benztropine mesylate is used because it belongs to the anticholinergic class of medicines. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter which, when present in excess, causes muscle spasm difficulties. By alleviating the effects of acetylcholine, benztropine mesylate also alleviates the effects of Parkinsonian symptoms. Benztropine mesylate is associated with its own range of potential side effects. Among these include nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, and constipation. Some patients may also experience blurred vision and infrequent urination.
