Combigan (brimonidine and timolol ophthalmic) is a combination medication that treats open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Ocular hypertension is a condition caused by high pressure inside the eye due to excess fluid. Brimonidine is the drug in this combination that reduces the amount of fluid in the eye to lower the pressure which can cause pain and headache. Timolol is a beta-blocker that also reduces pressure in the eye. With a combination of these two medicines, it becomes very easy to treat Ocular hypertension. Patients with a history of severe heart diseases should not use Combigan. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should also refrain from using this medication.
