Cabazitaxel Uses

Cabazitaxel is approved for the treatment in combination with prednisone of patients with castrate resistant metastatic prostate cancer that was formerly treated with a docetaxel-containing medicine. Cabazitaxel is given intravenously, and there is no pill form. You will take a corticosteroid pill, prednisone while being treated with Cabazitaxel. Cabazitaxel is a microtubule inhibitor.   • The recommended dose is Cabazitaxel 25mg/m2 administered every three weeks as a one-hour intravenous infusion in combination with prednisone 10 mg administered each day in the course of treatment.
  • Cabazitaxel should not be administered to patients if the neutrophil counts are ?1,500 cells/mm3 or if they have a history of severe hypersensitivity to Cabazitaxel. Primary prophylaxis with granulocyte colony stimulating factor may be considered in patients with high-risk clinical ages.
