Biotuss Uses

Biotuss, a cough suppressant that affects brains, reducing the urge to cough, is a product for relieving coughs. Biotuss as a decongestant aids relieve stuffy nose and ear congestion. Acetaminophen reduces fever as well as relieving pain; it is a non-aspirin.

Biotuss can be employed in the treatment of symptoms caused by:

  • common cold
  • allergies
  • flu
  •  breathing problems like sinusitis and bronchitis

Biotuss works by constricting the blood vessels reducing swelling in the nasal passage. Biotuss medication is however not used for coughs caused by smoking, emphysema, coughs with a lot of mucus or asthma unless doctor instructs otherwise.

Biotuss Dosage

Biotuss is prescribed depending on the health condition, age of the patient, and the type of infection being treated. Doctors can prescribe different dosage; however, it is advisable strictly to use the dosage given by the physician to avoid future problems. The standard preferred regimen is provided as follows.

Adult dosage

  • Cold symptoms: 30 mL orally after every 4 hours, not exceeding four doses daily.
  • Two capsules orally after every 6 hours and not exceeding eight capsules per day.


  • Cold symptoms: 12 years or older: 30 mL every 6 hours and not exceeding four doses a day.
