Biohist-La Uses

Biohist-La is a combination medication that temporarily relieves the allergy, cold, breathing illnesses symptoms. It is very effective in treating upper respiratory infections. It is formulated by combining two medicines including chlorpheniramine and pseudoephedrine.

Biohist-Lais made of a decongestant and an antihistamine. Pseudoephedrine is the decongestant agent in this combination. It works by shrinking the blood vessels and thus treating the nasal congestion. Chlorpheniramine is the antihistamine that relieve itchy/watery eyes, sneezing, itchy throats and other allergic symptoms. The antihistamine works by reducing the production of natural histamine to relieve the allergy symptoms.

Biohist-La dosage for adults:

  • Allergic Rhinitis; 2 tablets orally every 4 to 6 hours.
  • Sinusitis; 2 tablets (2 mg- 15 mg) every 4-6 hours.

Children’s dosage for Allergic rhinitis/cold symptoms

  • 6 to 12 months: 0.5 mL four times a day. Max dose; 4 doses per day.
  • 1 to 2 years: 0.75 mL four times a day. Max dose; 4 doses per day.
  • 2 to 3 years: 1 mL four times a day. Max dose; 4 doses per day.
  • 6 to 11 years; 1 tablet 4 to 6 times a day.
  • 12 years and older: 2 tablet 4 to 6 times a day.
