Bidhist Uses

Bidhist is a combination medication that is formulated to help in treating various upper respiratory conditions caused by infections, cold or allergies. The drug is mostly used in treat allergic rhinitis. The drug is an antihistamine and decongestant formulated by combining two medicines.

Pseudoephedrine is the decongestant that shrinks blood vessels and thus reducing the swelling in the nasal passage. Brompheniramine is the antihistamine that blocks or reduces the action of the natural histamine to reduce the seasonal allergy symptoms. This combination can be used to treat other conditions as prescribed by the physician.

When it comes to the dosage application, Bidhist must be administered as prescribed by the doctor. Usual adult dosage forAllergic Rhinitis:

  • One capsule every 12 hours.
  • For solution: 20 ml every 4 hours.

Children’s usual dosage for Allergic rhinitis:

  • 6-12 years; ½ tablet every 4 hours and not exceed 6 doses per daily
  • 13 to 18 years; 1 tablet every 4 hours and not exceed 6 doses per daily
  • Bidhist is not safe for children below 6 years.
