Bicillin Uses

Bicillin is prescribed for the treatment of certain bacterial infections, especially those that are resistant to other drugs. Bicillin injectable suspension comes in the form of 1 ml, 2 ml and 4 ml units. Recommended Bicillin dosage is as follows;

  • Treatment of upper respiratory infection; a single dose of 2 Ml injection for adults and 1 Ml for older pediatric patients and 0.5 Ml for younger pediatric patients less than 12 years old.
  • Treatment of syphilis; a single dose of 4 ml is given for adult patients.
  • For the treatment of and prevention of rheumatic fever; a single injection dose of 1 Ml is given once every month or 0.5 Ml every two weeks.
