Benzoic acid Uses
Benzoic acid should only be used as prescribed by your doctor or caregiver, children below the age of 18 years should not use this medication. Benzoic acid is dangerous and should not be inhaled as it can cause damage to the nervous system and should not be used in patients with asthma or higher levels of hypersensitivity. Benzoic acid is found in products such as

Benzoic acid Dosage
Benzoic acid dose is determined by your physician. He or she may determine the dose based on factors such as severity of the condition being treated, weight, age, medical history and response to treatment. It, therefore, means that the dose may vary from one patient to the other. The duration between intervals, time and the length of using Benzoic acid are determined by the severity of the condition being treated. Apply a small amount in the affected area using a clean cotton wool and spread it evenly to form a thick layer over the infected area. Wash your hands before and after the application. Benzoic acid should not be used in larger or smaller amounts or longer than the recommended time as prescribed by your physician.
Do not inhale or take this drug by mouth, Benzoic acid is for use only on the skin. If this medication gets into contact with your eyes, nose, mouth, vagina or rectum, rinse with cold water.
If you miss a Benzoic acid dose, apply it as soon as you can. However, if it is about time for the second dose, skip the missed dose and go back to the normal schedule.
