Barbidonna is a combination medicine that is used to treat various stomach conditions. The drug is mostly used a treatment of irritable bowel syndrome and intestinal ulcers.

 It is formulated by combining two medicines that make it very effective in treating various stomach problems. Phenobarbital is a Barbiturate that slows the activity of the brain and nervous system to help in reducing pain. Belladonna is the other component in the combination that reduces muscles spasm in the intestine. It also reduces the production of secretions from certain glands.

Barbidonna Dosage

Usual adults’ Dosage for:

  • Duodenal ulcer enterocolitis, and irritable bowel syndrome; 1to 2 tablets orally 3-4 times a day. For extended-release tablets: 1 tablet every 12 hours.

Pediatric Dose for Duodenal ulcer, enterocolitis, and irritable bowel syndrome:

  • 5 kg-9.1 kg; 0.5 mL orally every 4 hours or 0.75 mL every 6 hours
  • 1 kg – 13.6 kg; 1 mL orally every 4 hours or 1.5 mL every 6 hours
  • 6 kg-22.7 kg; 1.5 mL orally every 4 hours or 2 mL every 6 hours
  • 7 kg-34 kg; 2.5 mL orally every 4 hours or 3.75 mL every 6 hours
  • 4 and greater; 5 mL orally every 4 hours or 7.5 mL every 6 hours
