Balhistine DM Uses

Balhistine DM is a combination medication that is formulated to help in treating various upper respiratory infections. It is a combination of three medicines that include dextromethorphan, brompheniramine, and pseudoephedrine. 

Pseudoephedrine is the decongestant agent that constricts the blood vessels and thus reducing the swelling in the nasal passage. Dextromethorphan is the cough suppressant works in the brain to help in decreasing the cough reflex and lastly, brompheniramine is the antihistamine that blocks the action of the natural histamine to reduce the sneezing and watery eyes.

  • 6-11 years; 2.5 to 5 mL orally every 4-6 hours and not exceed 4 doses daily
  • 12 years and above; 5-10 mL orally every 4-6 hours and not exceed 4 doses daily
