B-Vex Uses

In order to relieve the varying symptoms of hay fever, allergy and the common cold, B-Vex works by blocking histamine, a natural substance produced by the body in the event of an allergic reaction.

B-Vex also blocks acetylcholine, another natural substance produced by the body, thus helping to dry up some fluids in the body to lighten symptoms such as a running nose and watery eyes.

In case these symptoms do not disappear, or the condition worsens, it is advisable to seek medical attention from a health care provider.

It is used to treat symptoms such as;

  • allergies
  • watery eyes
  • sneezing
  • stuffy nose
  • hives
  • inflammation of the nose
  • rashes
  • running nose
  • itchy nose or throat.


B-Vex Dosage

It is paramount to carefully follow the dosage instructions issued by a doctor or pharmacist so as to minimize the risk of serious side effects. B-Vex dose should be administered as listed below;

  • The maximum amount of B-Vex that one should take in a day is 24 Mg. The regular release tablets and the liquid form should be taken every four to six hours in a day while the sustained release tablets on should be taken after every 8 to 12 hours. On the other hand, one should take one or two teaspoons two times a day of the B-Vex PD suspension

  • The drug should be taken orally in its tablet, liquid or capsule form as directed by a doctor.

B-Vex can taken  taken with or without food, however, incase of stomach upsets it can be taken along with milk or food. Aditionally extended release capsules should be taken whole without chewing or crushing while Extended release capsules should not be split unless otherwise advised by a doctor.

Chewable tablets should be chewed completely before swallowing whereas the liquid form should be measured carefully using a measuring device so as to administer the right dosage.If the liquid form is a suspension, the bottle should be shaken well before use.

B-Vex Side Effects

B-vex may bring about some varying side effects depending with the patient and also other varying reasons. Some of these side effects lighten as the body gets used to the medication. However, it is advisable to seek medical attention if you experience any severe side effects.

B-vex can also thicken mucus in the lungs making it more difficult to clear the lungs or breathe. However, one can alleviate this risk by consuming plenty of fluids unless otherwise directed by a doctor.

  • Antihistamines applied to the skin such as diphenhydramine spray, cream or ointment
  • Antispasmodics such as belladonna alkaloids and atropine
  • MAO inhibitors such as phenelzine, linezolid, methylene blue, pherelzine, moclobemide, rasagiline or procarbazine
  • Medications for Parkinson’s disease such as benztropine and anticholinergics
  • Scopolamine
  • Try cyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline

B-Vex may also interact with other medications that cause drowsiness hence you should notify your doctor if you are taking antiseizure drugs, muscle relaxants or sleep and anxiety medications.
