Antibiotic Hc Uses
Antibiotic Hc is a combination medicine which is mainly used for treating or preventing bacterial eye infections and reducing inflammation. This medication is combined of antibiotics Neomycin and Polymyxin which are used for killing or slowing the growth of sensitive bacteria on the eye and an anti-flammatory corticosteroid which works by reducing swelling or inflammation. Note that Antibiotic Hc does not prevent or treat other types of eye infections but only treats or prevents bacterial eye infections. Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in it. Also do not use if you have a fungal or mycobacterial infection of the eye. Consult your doctor before using the medicine to be monitored.
Antibiotic Hc Dosage
Antibiotic Hc dosage is dependent on the user since it is different on different users. The dosage is administered in the form of ointment. Read the prescription details on the label or consult your doctor for instructions. Do not start, stop or change the dosage without consulting the doctor.
Adult Dose for Uveitis
- 1/2-inch ribbon: Apply to the conjunctival sac of affected eye(s) after every 3 or 4 hours, based on severity
Adult Dose for Bacterial Conjunctivitis
- 1/2-inch ribbon: Apply a small amount of the medicine to conjunctival sac of affected eye(s) after every 3 or 4 hours, depending on severity.
Note; Do not use more than 8g ointment on the affected eye(s) unless a further evaluation is done by the doctor.
- Pediatric dosage: The dosage is not yet established. Consult your doctor for prescription.
Antibiotic Hc Side Effects
Antibiotic Hc can cause a variety of side effects which are dependent on the user.
