Aloxi is used mostly to combat any vomiting and nausea caused from chemotherapy and surgery. Aloxi does this by blocking the hormones that create the vomiting sensation.
Note that Aloxi should only be used for children when they being treated for cancer. Adults on the other hand can use Aloxi for both post-surgery medication and chemotherapy.

Aloxi dosage is completely dependent on the individual that takes it, as it can be used for a variety of conditions. Note that the amount of Aloxi you take also depends on the age of the individual. In addition to that the amount of Aloxi you take also depends on the strength of each pill/tablet/injection and the amount of times you plan on taking the pill/tablet/injection a day.
Aloxi dosage to prevent nausea and vomiting from chemotherapy
- For adults, take one .25mg dosage for a period of 30 seconds. The dosage should be taken 30 minutes prior to chemotherapy treatment.
- For children, take once dosage of no more than 1.5 mg for a period of 30 seconds. The dosage should be taken 30 minutes prior to chemotherapy treatment.
Aloxi dosage to prevent nausea and vomiting surgery
- For adults, take one .075mg dosage for a period of 10 seconds.
- Aloxi is not recommended for children who are suffering from nausea and vomiting from surgery
