Alersule Uses

Alersule is a combination medicine which consists of antihistamines and decongestants. Alersule is mostly used to temporarily relieve the symptoms of common cold, flu, allergies, and other breathing problems such as bronchitis.

The Antihistamines helps in relieving sneezing, watery eyes, runny nose, and itchy eyes or throat. The Decongestants are used in relieving the symptoms of stuffy nose and ear congestions.

However, this medication may also be used for other conditions as determined by the doctor. Do not use this medicine in case you are allergic to it or any ingredient in it.

Alersule Dosage

Alersule dosage is dependent on the user of the medicine. The dosage varies with the age of the patient and also depend on the strength of the medicine. You should read the prescription details on the label to avoid unnecessary use. Note that unnecessary use or overuse can lead to ineffectiveness of the medicine.

Adult Dose for Cough and Nasal Congestion
Oral liquid:

  • 20 mL orally every 4 hours not to exceed 6 doses daily

Oral tablets:

  • take 1 tablet every 4 hours
  • do not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours

Pediatric Dose for Cough and Nasal Congestion
12 years or older:

  • Oral tablets: take 1 tablet every 4 hours
  • do not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours

Oral liquid:

  • 2 to 5 years: 1 mL orally every 4 to 6 hours not to exceed 4 doses daily.
  • 6 to 12 years: 2 mL orally every 4 to 6 hours not to exceed 4 doses daily.

Alersule Side Effects

Alersule has a variety of side effects which depends on the user of the medicine. It has some needed side effects as well as unwanted side effects. Note that not all side effects should be reported.
