Aldex Uses

Aldex is used in the treatment of cough and nasal congestion. It is made of two drugs known as Guaifenesin and phenylephrine making it be effective in its purpose. It acts as a decongestant and expectorant. 

Guaifenesin is an expectorant whose function is to loosens the congestion in the chest and throat making it so easy to cough and remove the sputum that could have thickened in the body. 

Phenylephrine is a decongestant that functions by opening all the sinuses and thinning the sputum congested in the body thus relieving your body to enjoy good breath and overall good health.

Aldex Dosage

Aldex is prescribed to patients with the above-described symptoms. It is, therefore, advisable that every patient should ensure that he or she has taken the right dosage. Usual dosage for

Adult

Guaifenesin 550 mg- phenylephrine 8.5 mg tablet:          

  • Should take 1tablet orally in every 4- 6 hours and should not exceed 4 doses per day

Pediatric

2- 5 years

  • Should take 1 ml orally in every 4- 6 hours and should not exceed 4 doses per day

6- 12 years

  • Should take 2 ml orally in every 4- 6 hours and should not exceed 4 doses per day
